"My portraits create moments in which beautiful memories and stories are told that are important to pass on, from man to man and generation to generation." I believe that a personal painting can touch people at their core (soul). That is why I paint colourful portraits of exceptional people. Portraits that invite you to think about the person who is in the centre and about the story he or she has to tell. Based on that thought I bring the person portrayed closer to the spectator. "My portraits show who someone is or was and make the spectator be touched. For just a moment, the person portrayed becomes a vivid memory, someone with a story. A story that is worth passing on". Painting someone on a canvas has been done since the olden days. A lasting memory of often valuable events of most important people. Captured by the grandmasters of time. My portraits show that this age-old craft has lost nothing of value, power and beauty. After all, the immortalizing of a loved one in an authentic way is not reserved for a certain zeitgeist. Since 2018, Aurore has been painting her colourful and realistic portraits from Curaçao. For many years, her artist's life was devoted to making cheerful paintings, often commissioned. However, the course changed and the island has a magical effect on her inspiration and creativity. In high school, Aurore was encouraged to further develop her talents. Although enrolled at several art academies, she eventually followed a teacher training course in drawing and crafts. Aurore learned to apply and master all techniques with the aim of transferring this knowledge to young, talented children. In the end it didn't get that far, painting and creating itself remained a common theme. The world around her is her most meaningful source of inspiration. Art without a fuss, accessible to everyone.
