Axios Review

Axios Review is an independent review organization. Our goal is to eliminate rejections for papers that are out of scope or not sufficiently novel. These rejections are inefficient, as authors spend valuable time reformatting their articles and waiting for decisions, and the reviewer community has to assess the same manuscript multiple times. Here's how we do it: authors submit to us with a ranked list of four target journals (e.g. A, B, C, D) and pay the submission fee ($250). We solicit external reviews, and the referees provide comments on the paper. They also say which target journals are most suitable. Our editor then makes a decision on where the paper can be referred (e.g. not A, but the paper could fit in B, C or D). The article and the reviews are then initially sent to the Editor in Chief of journal B. If they want the paper, the authors revise accordingly and submit. If B declines the paper, we send it to journal C, and so forth. Authors who use our service are thus able to submit to a journal that actively wants their manuscript, cutting out rejection on grounds of scope or interest, and significantly reducing rejections because the paper is flawed. Reviewers do not have to evaluate the same paper over and over, and journals spend less effort turing away unsuitable papers.
