Based on open-source MIT-licensed Graphene technology, BitShares since matured into Corporate DAC - being first "Dark DAO". 2020 to present: Trademark EUIPO, Removal of Collateral voting, removal of double voting, halt of funding by the blockchain, self-funded, maintained by maximalists of the technology and brand, encouraging only long-term entries to participate in its development. Before 2020: BitShares blockchain and its dApps have been maintained and developed by workers elected via stakeholder consensus, consisting of more than 30 highly skilled professionals. No ownership, no authority, no freedom or equality between holders, companies and organizations built on top of it. Result: Total drainage of supply by manipulation of its own holders, turning voting process similar to democracy to pure plutocracy on the blockchain.
