Creative Writing Alliance Malta (CWAM) was launched in September 2014 to provide creative writers with opportunities to develop their storytelling skills professionally and to strive toward increasing work prospects for creative writers. Stories happen all around us all the time and major businesses and industries worldwide have a strong storytelling team at the focus of their operations, branding, and marketing. Yet, the importance of the storyteller is often undermined, resulting in a lack of professional training for aspiring storytellers, together with a lack of employment opportunities for professional storytellers. CWAM aims to increase professional opportunities at the educational and employment ends by bring together creative storytellers from diverse backgrounds via professional workshops, projects, and networking events to create and engage in creative storytelling and, in the long term, also work on policies and in collaboration with businesses, highlighting the importance of the creative writer in the industry.
