Dance is Live

The idea was born out of a lack of places to meet and dance Dance is Live started as a project led by exchange students who came to Sweden to study at KTH. The foreign students quickly noticed that there was no place to dance with other students at KTH. Then they started KTH Dance Club, a place where students could be seen and dance for free. Eventually, the students behind KTH Dance Club felt that they wanted to reach more than just KTH students and that a larger target group would have the opportunity to take part in dance courses and learn different kinds of dance styles. In the end, it turned out that the most effective way to reach a large number of people was to offer dance classes online. This is how the idea was born to create a digital platform for dance courses - Dance is Live. The basic idea is that the platform will bring together those who want to learn to dance with professional dance teachers. The purpose of the platform is to offer dance classes at good prices to people all over the world. The idea is not for professional dancers to give away their services for free, but the goal is to eventually create a good balance so that many can afford to dance, while the professional dancers get paid for their time and energy. The idea is clearly reminiscent of popular music streaming platforms; you do not have to pay that much for the service itself, but you get access to millions of songs on one and the same platform, and the artists get paid per viewing. That is one of the business models we would like to apply to. Moreover, many platforms, that you can learn dance, offer this service for a subscription. Besides a subscription model, we would like to provide a "pay as you go" model with affordable prices without any long term commitments. In addition to those services, we are excited to work on more innovative ideas in the technology-end soon.
