The annual Eurasian Media Forum, held in Kazakhstan, brings together the most significant figures of politics, economics, social issues and, in particular, the media. It is here where East meets West. This event revives the role of Central Asia as a communications center encompassing the ancient Silk Road between China and Europe. The Forum started its activity in 2002 with words of welcome from the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, at the time he noted that the Forum has become a new platform for global dialogue. Since then it has gained a reputation of a world class platform for discussion of the most pressing topics and the latest news from the Americas, Europe and Asia. Every year the forum brings together more than 600 delegates from 60 countries: notable politicians, experts and influential media representatives. The XVI Forum will take place on 22 - 24th of May, 2019 in Almaty. The founding Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Doctor of Political Sciences Dr. Dariga Nazarbayeva will open the Forum.
