简介 | We are tackling a long-standing problem that has not received proper attention so far. We have surveyed passengers and concluded their real issue when using public transport toilets! Toileting is a basic human activity. During long travel, the toilet in the vehicle is also an important issue. Toilets are in several types of vehicles, such as airplanes, ships, trains, and buses. They are considered public toilets, and concerns about them usually concern sanitation. Disease transmission can occur due to a dirty toilet in a travel vehicle. One of the first mass cases of COVID-19 occurred on board the Cruise Ship "Diamond Princess" at the end of January 2020. A total of 712 passengers and crew members fell ill and 13 people died. This case describes a topical problem - the rapid spread of infectious diseases in a closed room environment with a high concentration of humans. Such rooms onboard ships are usually rest areas, multi-bed cabins, and, in particular, sanitary rooms. Toilets in airplanes, buses, and cruise ships require a special design to save space in the cabin. So that as many passengers as possible can be accommodated. Small indoor spaces with inadequate ventilation and crowding are common factors in viruses (also COVID-19) clusters and outbreaks. This in turn means that it is impossible to avoid various infections in the toilets. Investigation of a COVID-19 outbreak on aircraft and cruise ships discovered that exposure via the toilets was the most plausible cause of transmission between passengers. It's been a year since this new virus broke out, and we've learned a lot during that time. On planes, ships and buses, there are already thinking about how to provide clean air in the cabin, free of bacteria and viruses. The issue of toilets in vehicles is important but forgotten. Public toilets have to play an important role in supporting hygiene for people who are traveling. |
