Barce Foundation

The 'Barce Foundation' is an initiative from two artists; Marcelo Gimenes www.gimenes.eu & Jaap Snijder www.jaapsnijder.com . The main objective of the Barce Foundation is to initiate and finance cultural events for children and adults in Brazil with mental or physical disabilities. By connecting with local governments, organizations and schools, but also by interaction between Dutch and Brazilian organizations. The Barce foundation is participating in exchanging knowledge and ideas to help disabled people. Barce Foundation arranges art exhibitions and sell their artworks to support local organizations. All Profits go directly to local charity organizations. Barce Foundation is the initiator of THE HUMMINGBIRD EFFECT According to the Tupi-Guarani legend once upon a time there was a big fire in the forest. All the animals ran away to a safer place. The hummingbird, though, kept flying over the flaming forest back and forward. What are you doing hummingbird? Asked the animal's concerned. - I am bringing water from the river to extinguish the fire! But that is a crazy thing to do – thought the animals. - You are too small... it will never work! Give it up... - That is true – said the hummingbird – but I have to try for this is the only thing I can do. I am just doing my share... If everybody would take their responsibility, the world would be a better place to live. ........ Be part of the Hummingbird Effect!
