For us, it's all about balance. Women makeup over half the population, and certainly don't lack ability or ambition, yet we're still more than 100 years away from achieving gender equality in the workplace. Since its inception in 2017, there has been a distinct lack of movement in the gender pay gap. In 2023, women are still paid less than men in 4 out of 5 employers, record numbers of us are leaving the workplace leading to an even more depleted pipeline, and just 1 in 3 UK businesses are run by women – lower than the US and our European neighbours – and amounting to around 1.1 million ‘missing' businesses. Empower is on a mission to prioritise women and drive change because – while we have seen progress – we're not at the same level as men. Empower was founded to elevate, support and accelerate female talent and break down gender-based barriers to level up leadership. Founder, Kirstene Hair, former Member of Parliament and Political Advisor, brings her unique experience of life in public office, speaking from the most famous debating Chamber in the country, along with an understanding of the specific challenges and pressures women face on their leadership journey, to grow and advance female talent. We support women to thrive professionally and personally – and achieve their version of success – whatever that may be, through our tailored coaching, thoughtful, innovative courses, and inspiring events. Kirstene Hair is an Accredited Leadership Coach and regular media contributor and speaks at events up and down to the country to inspire talented, ambitious women and to deliver a level playing field for women.
