Himakova (Student Association of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism) is a part of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism Department, Faculty of Forestry, IPB University. Himakova is a professional organization engaged in the forest resources conservation, ecotourism, and the environment. HIMAKOVA was founded on September 12, 1985.
Himakova consists of 6 Bureaus and 8 Observer Groups. The bureau within Himakova consists of the PSDM (Human Resources Development) Bureau, the Entrepreneurship Bureau, the Secretariat Bureau, the Information and Communication Bureau, the Family Bureau, and the Social and Environmental Bureau. Observer groups in Himakova include the 'Tarsius' Mammal Observer Group, 'Perenjak' Bird Watcher Group, 'Python' Herpetofauna Observer Group, 'Sarpedon' Butterfly Observer Group, Flora 'Rafflesia' Observer Group, 'Hira' Cave Observer Group , 'Tapak' Ecotourism Watch Group, and Conservation Photography.
Himakova has several excellent work programs including Gebyar Himakova, Campus Biodiversity , Himakova Expo, Exploration of Indonesian Fauna, Flora and Ecotourism (Rafflesia), Expedition for Environmental Conservation Studies (Surili), and the National Seminar on the Results of the Himakova Expedition.
