RaceSafe

RaceSafe is a mobile medical management platform for use in sporting events. The platform has proven to be useful for each member associated with an event. RaceSafe serves the largest events in the United States, such as the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series and The Special Olympics World Games 2015. RaceSafe was founded by a sports medicine physician from UCSF who wanted to provide better care for everyday athletes. The platform provides a secure database for participants to securely share health information with the medical team prior to their event. RaceSafe enables medical teams to securely access cloud based personal health records on their smartphones, standardizes prehospital care, tracking, and documentation in real-time, should an emergency occur. Medical teams currently operate on a pen and paper system and have no standards of care to assist the medical workers at these events. Medical volunteers during races often lack any patient's medical history or specific race care training, increasing the risk of medical errors. Event Organizers can customize a landing page on iracesafe.com to sign up, assign, and train the medical volunteers. RaceSafe uses apps to perform event day communication and documentation, and create post event analytics and reports. RaceSafe is uniquely positioned to capture large amounts of medical information and analyze the data to improve event medical care. The app can be customized to serve for other sports or events. RaceSafe improves medical care by advancing sport medicine tech and connecting the medical team.
