Telspec Pty Ltd was part of the Telspec Group of Companies which operated worldwide, with headquarters at Telspec plc in Rochester, UK. Telspec Pty Ltd had market responsibility for Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific and was located in Melbourne Australia. Working through strategic global partnerships, Telspec built an installed base in over thirty-five countries, with more than five million telephone customers served through our products. Telspec's customers can be grouped into encumbent telephone carriers, competitive telephone carriers, internet service providers and the enterprise market. The Telspec product range was organised into three distinct business units: Access Solutions, Customer Premises Solutions and Switching Solutions. Telspec was involved in the design, development, manufacture, marketing, sales, installation and support of products and solutions in each of these business areas. Telspec was a leader in the following fields: • Access Solutions for use with copper and optical fibre cables • ISDN Network Terminals • Intelligent Switches Telspec access network solutions sold to telecommunications carriers and service providers worldwide. These solutions provided voice and data service, and enable carriers to lower their costs and respond more quickly to demand for new customer connections. Telspec customer premises solutions are predominantly ISDN terminals. These solutions enable customers to access both analogue telephony and digital data services over a single copper pair. Telspec intelligent switching solutions were based around a small but fully scaleable carrier class switch which is fully software configurable to provide a range of different applications.
