Hampshire Countryside Service

Hampshire County Council's Countryside Service inspires people to connect with and enjoy the countryside, while making space for nature to thrive. Our ambition is that every person in Hampshire will have a life-long active and emotional connection with the outdoors, a love of nature, and a desire to protect and support its recovery. As a service, we are responsible for the management of 7,400 acres of land for wildlife, 80 sites, 71 heritage features and almost 3,000 miles of rights of way public access. We work with local landowners to manage, protect and improve public footpaths, bridleways and byways for the public's benefit. We also work to protect and conserve Hampshire's indigenous wildlife and its rich heritage, through our nature recovery initiatives. Our countryside sites across Hampshire include Royal Victoria Country Park, Manor Farm and River Hamble Country Park, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Staunton Farm and Country Park, Lepe Country Park and Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve. We're passionate about what we do and are keen to share our knowledge and ideas; we endeavour to do this by shining a spotlight on our volunteers and staff, promoting our conservation work and land management and anything else we think you'll find interesting about the countryside and nature. We strive to be forward-thinking, dynamic and leading the way in countryside management.
