The main task is to create the financial base for participation and to offer the best possible care for the athletes. Widespread public interest and admiration of the regularly outstanding performances of top athletes, the financial support of our sponsors and the substantial engagement of all persons involved in the organisation make it possible for top athletes with disabilities to continue taking up the challenges of the Paralympic Games. Athletes with an intellectual disability or multiple disabilities participate at the World Games of Special Olympics. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California, is a famous supporter of these Games. To date, the Austrian Paralympic athletes have won a total of 222 Gold, 248 Silver and 247 Bronze medals!
