University of Kufa

The University of Kufa is an Iraqi university located in Najaf, Iraq. It was founded in 1987 and comprises 12 colleges. The College of Medicine was established a decade earlier and attached to Mustansiriya University. In 1989, the College of Arts was established with only two departments: the Arabic Language Department and the Department of History. In 1991, the regime of Saddam Hussein closed the university after an uprising in March 1991, but two years later it was re-opened. Through values integration, the University of Kufa aspires to be a member of the world's leading universities in the fields of authenticity, exploration and scientific research. A bonus feature is its receptivity to interact with international standards regarding education, application of knowledge and scientific research whether nationally or internationally. This outcome is incorporated to achieving sustainable advancements. THE GOALS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF KUFA 1. To stay up to date with the new developments in technologies and learning systems. 2. To prepare students with the skills and attributes they need to succeed in a global work environment. 3. To continue in the tradition of education, scientific research and public service. 4. To advance in collaborative research abound with colleges from other universities at regional and international levels.
