Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQ Health) operates as an individual statutory body, overseen by a local Hospital and Health Board. The health service's performance results rank it among the best performing public health organisations in Queensland. We are pleased to set out Destination 2030 - our long-term strategy to deliver Great Care for Central Queenslanders; to improve the health of Central Queenslanders; and to shape the future of hospital and healthcare across our region. The health service provides health care to the Central Queensland catchment area of approximately 235,000 people, with an estimated growth rate of 1.6% to 2036, and more than 3,400 dedicated staff delivering quality health care. The primary hospitals within the health service are Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, and Biloela together with many smaller rural units transferring patients through to Rockhampton for specialist care and investigation. CQ is home to CQUniversity a progressive dual sector Uni/ TAFE with many quality public and private schools offering people education choices.
