Innovation at Sanford Health is about solving problems and improving health care. From building one of the first fixed-wing air ambulances, which helped save premature babies, to inventing a medical device that provides a life-saving option for vascular patients, innovating is part of Sanford Health's DNA. Every innovation starts with an idea. And we know the best place to start is by listening to our nurses, physicians, researchers and other employees because they're on the front lines of health care. They each have a powerful perspective on the services we provide, the environment we work in and the hope we have for the future. We are able to bring our ideas to reality by collaborating with people and organizations to solve problems and improve treatment methods that help our patients. The innovations team: • Helps employees develop their ideas for efficiencies, improved safety or solutions to problems. • Evaluates external partnerships. • Analyzes existing and new business developments. • Offers guidance on how to navigate the Food and Drug Administration approval process. • Runs idea-generation challenges using crowdsourcing.
