Amina's interest in estate and business planning developed out of her work experiences as an attorney and as director of a nonprofit institution. After graduation from law school, Amina advocated on behalf of abused and neglected children. In her six years as a child abuse attorney, Amina witnessed not only the devastating impact of abuse on children, but also the trauma they suffer upon being moved to foster care and group home settings. The September 11 tragedy affected every American in some way. For Amina, it ultimately led to her work as director of a community-based nonprofit institution. There, she worked on government, media and interfaith relations on behalf of communities impacted by the tragedy. Amina also wrote grant proposals and worked on nonprofit fundraising initiatives. Through this process, she learned how valuable charitable estate planning can be for the nonprofit community. While taking some time off to spend with her young children, Amina gave thought to her memorable experiences as an attorney and nonprofit director. She realized through this process that she had found her new niche: estate and business planning to protect our young children and provide for nonprofit institutions. Amina is a member of Wealth Counsel, a nationwide collaboration of trusts and estates attorneys and other legal, tax and business professionals. Her continuing education and involvement with estate planning attorneys across the United States allows her to employ sophisticated planning techniques for her clients. Amina is a fellow of the prestigious Leadership Greater Chicago, a group that strives to create lifelong partnerships and develops community awareness among leaders in the Chicago metropolitan area. Amina lives in the western suburbs, where her husband has established his dental practice. They have three young children. She enjoys travel, hiking, biking, and wading through creeks with her husband and children.
