G Heymans at the birth of the Dutch chapter of the SPR in 1917. The goal of the SPR is to stimulate research into so called paranormal phenomena using generally accepted scientific methods. The SPR is disseminating results of this research, independent of the outcome and with the relativistic footnotes that are an intrinsic part of the scientific enterprise. The Dutch SPR pulishes The Periodical on Parapsychology & Consciousness-research (TvP: Tijdschrift voor Parapsychologie & Bewustzijnsonderzoek) four times a year.
