Nephila Capital Ltd., the parent company of Nephila Climate (NCx), is the oldest and largest (as at January 2018) investment manager specializing in reinsurance risk. Nephila launched its weather focus in 2005, after experimenting with various weather transactions in prior years, including trading the first weather bond - Kelvin Ltd. - in 1999. Since then Nephila has been at the forefront of developing the global weather risk transfer market, offering coverage to counterparties in multiple sectors, particularly energy markets, renewable energy and agriculture. Nephila Climate was formed to elevate weather risk transfer beyond the traditional markets and products, with particular emphasis on climate risk and resilience, and renewable energy financing.
