Established in 1981, Novus Engineering, P.C. provides mechanical, electrical and energy engineering services to commercial, institutional, and industrial clients in the Northeast. We provide a broad range of design and analysis services. Novus is expert in all aspects of energy-efficient building and system design. We take pride in designing correctly-sized systems using well-proven, energy-efficient technologies. We attempt to design systems that will achieve excellent comfort conditions, healthy indoor air quality, and reasonable operating costs. Novus also makes it a priority to specify systems that will not become maintenance headaches for our clients. On new construction projects, we use our energy modeling expertise to work closely with architects on optimizing building insulation systems. Novus is a recognized expert in the field of energy conservation and energy efficient design. For many years, we have served as a contractor to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority for their FlexTech and New Construction programs. Under these programs, Novus provides technical assistance to clients on energy-efficient building design and energy upgrades to existing buildings. As a result of our extensive "hands-on" experience, Novus provides excellent commissioning and retro-commissioning services to help clients get maximum performance out of existing equipment at the lowest possible energy cost. Novus also provides acoustical design services to architects and building owners. We have designed acoustical treatments for rehearsal rooms, gymnasiums, libraries, lecture halls and auditoriums. We are frequently called upon to provide recommendations to fix "problem" acoustics in existing spaces.
