Founded in 1808, Mount St. Mary's University (MSMU) is the nation's second oldest Catholic university — offering a rigorous educational experience rooted in the liberal arts with campuses in Emmitsburg and Frederick, Maryland. TRADITIONAL UNDERGRADUATE The Mount's main campus in Emmitsburg is home to more than 40 academic programs, Division I athletics, and an award-winning student life program. GRADUATE AND ADULT UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS The Mount's Frederick Campus is located within an hour of both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. The campus offers graduate degrees, graduate certificates, and undergraduate degree programs for working adults. Most classes are accelerated, offered in the evenings one night a week for 8-week sessions.
