Overview Founded in 1977, Bitumar Inc. is a privately owned company specializing in the production of liquid bitumen used in asphalt blends for road paving as well as for the roofing industry. Bitumar owns and operates two plants in Montreal, QC. The company also has plants in Baltimore, MD, through its subsidiary Bitumar USA, Inc., in Georgia under Bitumar (Georgia) Inc. and in Hamilton, ON under Canadian Asphalt Industries. Bitumar is establishing itself as the leader in bitumen distribution in the Northeastern United States. For this, Bitumar has entered into major agreements to expand the storage of its product and occupies terminals in Rhode Island, Maine and Connecticut. It is thanks to its large-scale projects that there are now more than 220 employees working across the Bitumar network.
