Today, the Nairobi-based Nation Media Group owns 60% shareholding in the Monitor Publications Limited, whose flagship product is the Daily Monitor Newspaper. With a respectable level of editorial independence, Uganda's leading independent newspaper has also grown into the most influential newspaper in the country.
