"The mission of the Sacramento Police Department is to work in partnership with the Community to protect life and property, solve neighborhood problems, and enhance the quality of life in our City. "​ Goals: •Reduce crime, the fear of crime, and improve the quality of life of Sacramento's residents. •Improve the trust and collaboration between community residents, businesses and police officers. •Augment education and training of crime prevention and youth intervention. •Remain on the cutting edge of best practices that promote safe, livable, and viable neighborhoods and business districts. As members of the Sacramento Police Department we accept responsibility for contributing to the quality of life in our community. We believe the character of our Department is best reflected in the quality of service provided by each of our members.
