Østerbro International School is a private educational establishment. It is recognised by and subject to Danish law and receives a subsidy from the Danish State. ØIS Mission: It is our mission is to provide the highest quality education to internationally-minded students in an inquiring and supportive environment. We seek to inspire students and to provide them with the academic and social skills that will enable them to fulfill their human potential as responsible global citizens. Our commitment at ØIS is to create and maintain a safe, happy and child-centered environment in which children are inspired to become purposeful life-long learners. Østerbro International School is currently an International Baccalaureate (IB) candidate school for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students from Prep Class to Grade 5, the Middle Years Programme (MYP), with students from Grades 6 to 9 and the Diploma Programme (DP) opening in August 2015 for high school or 'gymnasium' aged students. The school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.
