The key components of a Reinforced Earth Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall are steel or geosynthetic soil reinforcements, granular backfill, and precast concrete facing panels. The key to the design of a structure is the knowledge of the frictional bond between the backfill and the reinforcements.
