JIS is an 'Outstanding' English-medium, co-educational Day and Boarding International School, with a school population of over 1660 (from Nursery through to Year 13). Our academic curriculum is based closely on the UK National Curriculum. Following (I)GCSEs, students in the 6th Form may opt to study either A Levels or the IB Diploma. Exceptional exam results and university placements each year mean that we have a large 6th Form of around 350. When they graduate, JIS students move onto a wide range of top Universities around the world, with the majority going to leading Institutions in the UK and Australia (including Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial, Bristol and Melbourne). In August 2012, we opened a huge new Senior School Academic and Administration Centre. Facilities here including 20 state-of-the-art Science and ICT Laboratories; 40 Classrooms; Higher Education Faculty; Design & Technology Centre; 250-seat Lecture Theatre; 6th Form Common Room and Canteen; and a spectacular 2-storey e-Learning Centre. At JIS, we passionately believe in educating the whole person. Our aim is for JIS students to achieve excellent academic results in addition to becoming well-rounded, fulfilled, confident individuals. Education should be stimulating, enriching and enjoyable; and at JIS, this does not just happen in the classroom, but all over the campus, including the sports fields, at the boarding houses, or in our spectacular Arts Centre.
