In May 2017, Nan Shan Life took over all assets and liabilities of the troubled Chaoyang Life Insurance, demonstrating its commitment to fostering the sound development of Taiwan's insurance market. As of the end of 2017, Nan Shan Life's total assets exceeded NT$4 trillion.
