We were incorporated on January 26, 1952 under the name Korea Anbo Fire Marine Reinsurance Co., only to be renamed Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd. -- the name we go by today -- in December 1993. As the best domestic non-life insurance company in terms of size, financial structure, and management, we have offices in USA, Europe, and Asian countries such as China, Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam. We are expanding our operation network in cooperation with top foreign insurance companies and continuing to grow toward becoming a world-class financial institution providing various services. We are the biggest non-life insurance company in Korea, boasting of total assets of KRW 21,704.2 billion as of November 2008 and solvency ratio of 337.2% (as of September 2008).
