Velindre Cancer Centre is recognised as The Hospital Of Hope, and this is made possible because of the fantastic and committed supporters of Velindre cancer Charity. Their fundraising efforts and donations help us continue to be the leading provider of radiotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments in Wales. It allows us to fund projects which improve the experience and outcomes of patients receiving care and support here. Donations and fundraising raised in aid of Velindre Cancer Charity help fund roles, services and research that help provide comfort, support and hope for patients and their families. More specifically, the Charity invests £1 million per year into ground breaking research and clinical trials as well as 50% of specialist nursing roles, complimentary therapies, psychology staff members and children's resources to name a few. With your support, we are able to offer better quality of care through complex treatment pathways, earlier access to cutting edge treatments, research into new treatments as well as purchasing specialist equipment and funding invaluable support services and resources. The funds will also help ensure our staff have access to the most up to date training and techniques available directly impacting patient experience and outcomes.
