Oman Beverly Smyth is the leading Removal, House Moving and Storage Services Company in Ireland. Oman Moving Removals and Storage was established by Patrick Oman in 1969 in a 6,000 sq. ft. premises when the new roll-on, roll-off service to Britain and France opened the way to Europe for removals by motor van. Prior to this, the transport of furniture, fragile and valuable goods had to go to the way of all general cargo - by lift-on, lift-off sea container or loose on the deck of a coaster. Since then, Oman Moving and Storage has made specialised van transport its own niche market using air-ride vans and every innovation which has been developed for safe and secure transport of all manner of consignments such as cantilever tail-lifts, load restraints and the latest material handling equipment. In 1994 Oman was the first Moving and Storage Removals Company in Ireland to attain ISO 9002 Quality Management accreditation working with the Irish Institute for Industrial Research & Standards with the National Standards Authority of Ireland and the Irish Overseas Transport Association to make this Quality Standard available to the Irish Transport Industry. Oman has retained this accreditation and enhanced its procedures constantly to become one of the leaders in the Removals & Storage industry. In the specialised sphere of International Moving, the professional governing body, FIDI, initiated a Quality Standard (FAIM) specifically addressing the complexities of packing, lifting, moving, forwarding and storage furniture, Fine Art, personal effects and office goods. Again Oman Removals Company was one of the first to be accredited and hold FAIM ISO which is the FAIM standard taken to the ISO level. Internationally, Oman is considered an industry leader.
