GIS Design S.r.l. was born in November 2002 from the idea of the brothers Filippo and Fabio Colombrita to combine the knowledge developed by Filippo on the GIS and on the road, railway and airport infrastructures, in the framework of the Research Doctorate in Engineering of Road Infrastructures, with the technological and computer skills developed by Fabio in the late nineties, in order to create a SIT laboratory to support companies and operators in the sector. In the early years, the company dealt with most of the activities required in the context of integrated management systems (topographic and environmental surveys, development of management software, training of personnel involved in the use, etc.) and of the design of complex infrastructures (roads, road intersections, railways, subways, airports, etc.). Over time, GIS Design diversifies its activities by dedicating itself more to the transport safety sector both in the road and in the airport, to the infrastructure design and to the development of GIS applications. In recent years, in particular, he has supported various companies in the drafting of technical improvements for participation in tenders, developing considerable experience in the specific sector. Over time, GIS Design has made use of numerous collaborators who, in different ways and in different sectors, have contributed to making the company grow.
