Frontier Energy is one of the leading developers and investors in renewable energy in Africa, through two investment funds, registered in Denmark: - DI Frontier Market Energy & Carbon Fund started in 2011 with 70m USD in capital - Frontier Energy II started in 2017 with 227m USD in capital. The investment funds are managed by Frontier Investment Management, a Danish regulated alternative investment fund manager, with offices in Copenahgen and Nairobi, Kenya, where the bulk of its team is located. The group is an active investor with a diversified team for handling investments, development, construction, and operation. High ESG standards and positive impact is an underlying principle across all activities, from the level of local communities in areas of operation, national in the countries of operation, and globally by reducing carbon emissions. Investors in the fund represent most of the European development banks and a good selection of private investors, with about half of the capital from private sources and half from public sources.
