Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is the largest acute facility in the Vancouver Coastal Health acute network. Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) offers specialized and tertiary services to residents in Vancouver and across the Canadian province of British Columbia. VGH takes patients referred from other parts of the province requiring highly specialized services. VGH is also a teaching hospital, affiliated with the University of British Columbia, and home to one of the largest research institutes in Canada. Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is a world-class innovator in medical care, research and teaching. VCH provides a full range of direct and contracted health services including primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care, home and community care, mental health services, population and preventive health and addictions services. VCH is one of six publicly-funded healthcare regions within the Canadian province of British Columbia.
