Our services provide widespread benefits for all individuals and households, but the impact reaches well beyond their families. Northumberland CAB made a significant contribution to community life in the following ways: • Ensuring access to justice through advice and campaigning work • Supporting communities by tackling poverty, social exclusion and disadvantage • Reducing costs to the public purse by preventing problems from arising, escalating or deteriorating • Strengthening local economies by bringing in funds for clients and services • Improving skills through a range of employment and volunteering opportunities • Highlighting unfair laws, policies and procedures and campaigning for change • Promoting social cohesion through partnership work with other service providers
