Stockholm District Court is the country's largest public court and has its premises in "Rådhuset"​ at Kungsholmen in Stockholm. The Patent and Market Court is also established here. The District Court has about 300 employees and 375 board members. Stockholm District Court's court case (ie which is the geographical area within which a court is authorized to raise cases) is covered by Stockholm's inner city and Lidingö. The District Court handles about 18,000 litigation cases, criminal cases and cases per year. The District Court has five judicial departments. Section 1-4 deals with criminal cases, disputes, family cases and FT cases. The Patent and Market Court / Section 5 deals with intellectual property, competition law and marketing law cases and cases.
