Creative Energy

Creative Energy is an established energy infrastructure developer that owns and operates one of the largest district energy systems in North America. Since 1968, we have been delivering outstanding customer service with a 99.99% reliability record from our original plant in downtown Vancouver which now serves over 215 buildings across more than 45 million ft² of connected real estate through a 280 MW generation plant and a 15km distribution network. Today, Creative Energy brings low-carbon, reliable, and cost-effective district energy solutions to cities across Canada and the USA through a range of innovative and environmentally friendly district energy technologies and strategies. We currently have 15 new district energy systems in development that range from feasibility to early-stage operations, which includes our new low-carbon district energy system for one of North America's most sustainable universities, Thompson Rivers University. In addition to our new projects Creative Energy is undertaking one of the largest fuel-switch projects in North America that will decarbonize a portion of our Vancouver steam supply, avoiding over 38,000 tonnes of annual greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and providing low-carbon heating for an additional 25 million ft² of real estate.
