Founded in 1988, we change lives throughout greater Boston with our organic landscape design, installation, and maintenance services. The employees formed A Yard & A Half Landscaping Cooperative, Inc. in 2013 to purchase our 25-year old company from the retiring founder/owner, Eileen Michaels. For us, cooperative ownership is a personal investment, not just a job. Worker-owners participate in professional development, learning transferable skills and creating economic growth and self-sufficiency. We also share in the profits of our labor, allowing us to reinvest in our own communities and families. Recognized by Angie's List for our "Super Service"​ and by Inc. We're Master Gardeners, Massachusetts Certified Horticulturists, ICPI Certified, NOFA-Accredited Organic Landcare Professionals, and NCMA Certified. Our maintenance division serves Newton, Watertown, Brookline, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Wellesley, and Lexington. Our design and landscape construction divisions serve residential and municipal clients in greater Boston and beyond.
