Local photographers and video journalists tell convincing and independent stories about projects and initiatives in countries of the Global South. They reveal nuances that are beyond the lens of Western photographers. They have an eye for images that are attuned to the local language and not distorted by stereotypical ideas. A more visceral approach means their photography and videography respects the dignity and rights of their photographed subjects. With fair working conditions, they can secure their livelihood as professional photographers and video journalists on the spot. That's the Fairpicture mission. Fairpicture is a platform/agency/startup with the aim to change visual storytelling about the Global South.
