ST-NXP Wireless has been created by bringing together the wireless operations of two of the world's leading semiconductor companies: STMicroelectronics and NXP. The joint venture between two strong players in the wireless communications semiconductor market combines successful businesses that together generated revenues of around $3B in 2007. By Feb. 2009 ST-NXP Wireless was merged with the Ericsson Mobile Platforms Division of Ericsson AB, creating a new, 50+ - 50- JV between STMicroelectronics and Ericsson AB.
