Founded in 1863, Rhode Island Hospital (RIH), a founding member of the Lifespan health system, is a private, not-for-profit hospital. It is also the principal teaching hospital of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. RIH is home to Hasbro Children's Hospital, the only children's hospital in southeastern New England and the second largest in New England.The hospital is dedicated to being an industry leader as well as a pioneer of major new advancements in medicine and research.
