The Nottingham

We're The Nottingham. Founded in 1849 as a mutual building society, we are owned by our members with a long and proud history of offering financial support and advice. We don't have shareholders and profits can be passed on to our members and communities. Being smart with money is in our DNA - for over 170 years we have helped our members own their own homes and provided a safe and secure place for their savings. Following in the footsteps of our founder Samuel Fox, a keen philanthropist, we set up our community projects in 2011 to make a difference. Since launch we've donated over £1.2m for charities supporting employability, financial education and literacy, and homelessness in our heartland plus numerous volunteering hours of which our team get two paid days of a year. The Nottingham is proud to be signatory to the Woman in Finance Charter, a government initiative designed to improve gender diversity in senior positions within the financial services sector. We operate via a network of 30-plus building society branches with services including savings and, through expert partners, mortgage advice, estate agency, later life planning and insurance. For those wanting to take care of their money digitally there's Beehive Money, our app offering savings, including the Lifetime ISA for easy, ethical saving and Marketplace where mortgages, tools and articles can be found to guide our members through important life stages. Bees keep the world turning – and we're doing our best to follow their lead. As a nod to our namesake, we're supporting the UK's bee population by sponsoring our own hives with 200,000 bees. As Beehive grows, so will the hives and natural environments we create and support, with sustainability targets to help us along the way. Our mortgage business, The Nottingham for Intermediaries, works through a network of carefully selected brokers and supports individuals and businesses up and down the country with all their mortgage needs.
