Founded in 1915 under the name "Consorzio Approvvigionamenti Metallurgici e Meccanici", Camfin S.p.A. is a historic Italian holding company, controlled by Marco Tronchetti Provera, which over the years has made investments in the energy, real estate and automotive sectors. Today, the main investment is the shareholding in Pirelli & C. S.p.A. (shareholding of approx. 14.1% and financial instruments related to a long position of approx. 4.6%), an asset in which it acts as a stable shareholder through a long-term partnership with China National Chemical Corporation Ltd (ChemChina). In 2020, Camfin expanded its activities to include private equity investments: in this context among other things, it entered a partnership with Longmarch Holding S.à.r.l., the Luxembourg-based vehicle of the Chinese Niu family, for investments through its subsidiary Camfin Alternative Assets.
