The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group consists of 17 hospitals – many of which have an outpatient surgical centre and an A&E department – and runs 17 radiology centres and five radiotherapy centres. This makes it the largest medical network in Switzerland. Hirslanden's 17 hospitals cover almost every medical discipline. The private hospital group was formed in 1990 out of the merger of a number of private hospitals, and became part of the South African hospital group Mediclinic International Limited in 1990.
