After independence, government found that to raise living standards & earning capacity of farmers & laborers, Co-operative is an ideal name. Thus started cooperative movement which caused an actal awareness about Co-operative societies all over India. Rajasthan state was also not untouched with this wave and government bodies played an important role in spreading it. Many Co-operative societies and district level Co-operative banks were established under this. Aburoad (in Sirohi district) took a leading role in initiating efforts to open Nagrik Sahakari Bank in Sirohi. On 5-9-1972, with best efforts of few persons, Sirohi District Commercial Co-operative Bank Ltd., Abu road, was registered under provisions of Rajasthan Co-operative Society 1965. Generally,operation area of Nagarik Sahakari banks is limited to urban & semi-urban areas only. However Bank was functioning in both Rural as well as Urban areas since its inception in 1972. Within a short period of time, due to the response and encouragement given by the customers bank spread its wings. This year the Bank has got the status of a multistate bank and shri Deesa Nagrik Sahakri Bank Ltd. Gujarat has been merged in Adarsh Bank. Now the bank working in Rajasthan & Gujarat with 46 branches in the cities Jalore, Pali, Sirohi, Udaipur, Jaipur & Ajmer in Rajasthan & Surat, Ahmedabad, Palanpur, Deesa, Bhiladi, Dhanera &. Surendranagar district in Gujarat.
