Brunel Solar Team

The Brunel Solar Team is a non-profit prestige project with students from the Delft University of Technology. Its aim is winning the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, a 3000 km race straight through the hot desert of Australia, purely using solar energy. The vision is to inspire the world with high-end technology and superefficient use of sustainable energy. The Brunel Solar Team has won the World Solar Challenge seven times since 2001, with its Nuna 1, Nuna 2, Nuna 3, Nuna 4, Nuna 7, Nuna 8 and Nuna 9. Nuna 5 and Nuna 6 placed second. Since 2016 a new team of enthusiastic students are set out to race in South Africa, the Sasol Solar Challenge. This team does not build a new car, but is improving Nuna, which is used the year before at the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, even further for the challenging conditions in South Africa. In September 2022 we won the Sasol Solar Challenge for the fourth time in a row. Would you like to know more about the team and the car?
