Teneo is 'South Africa's No.1 Online School', a leading online-only school, providing the same classroom experience and routine-building structure as a high-quality physical private school. Inspired by a vision to democratise education, Teneo has taken the physical school model into the digital world, from daily live classes with qualified, registered teachers, to classrooms, staff rooms, parent meetings and tea rooms, coupled with a world-class learning management system, Teneo makes quality education accessible and affordable to all. Currently educating over 9000 students with 520 qualified teachers, Teneo offers the National Senior Certificate (NSC) through SACAI, the Independent Examinations Board (IEB), or alternatively students can choose to write their final exams through Pearson Edexcel when doing the British International curriculum. Founded in 2018, Teneo was strategically established prior to the pandemic, rather in response to it, to get the next generation "future-fit". Just like physical schools, Teneo enables students to foster meaningful relationships with teachers and peers and offers numerous extra-curricular activities: drone coding, chess, debating, performance arts academy, and entrepreneurship to name a few.
