Kickstart Scheme – At a glance WHAT IS IT? A government scheme to assist companies to kickstart their businesses post Covid-19 and help young people get into employment. HOW ARE WAGES COVERED? Government will fund wages of all employees taken on through the scheme for up to 25 hours per week for 6 months (Based on National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage) ANY OTHER FUNDING AVAILABLE? Government will fund employers using the scheme with a grant of £1500 per employee taken on through the scheme to cover costs of onboarding, training and more WHAT ABOUT NATIONAL INSURANCE? Government will cover costs of employers National Insurance contributions WHAT ABOUT PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS The scheme covers entry level pension contribution requirements HOW MANY STAFF CAN WE TAKE ON? Employers can take on any number of staff from 1 new member of staff upwards. WHEN DOES THE SCHEME START?
