NLC is a 'MINI RATNA'​ Government of India Enterprise falling under Public Sector Enterprises. NLC is involved in Mining (specialised open cast mining) and production of Electricity.NLC has 4 nos. of Thermal Power Stations in Neyveli itself with a total production capacity of around 3000MW.Apart from this,NLC has expanded its wings to Barsingsar with 2 x 125 MW Thermal Power Station which is on the verge of commissioning and Tuticorin with 2 x 500 MW Thermal Power Station.which is in the preliminary stages.
